So basically it requires a velocity change of 13 km/s to get to the moon...

I looked it up and the fastest commercially-available bullet travels 1.4 km/s (the 0.22 Swift round).

So the fastest bullet has about 1/10th the speed required to get to the moon. Pretty crazy to think about.
