I've also often thought that it makes much more sense for the universe to be filled with much more dust, debris, asteroids, planets, giant planets, and brown stars than they claim between the vast distances of visible stars. Why wouldn't it? Thus the dark mass is not remotely as much of a mystery, and maybe dark energy is slightly less mysterious too.

I didn't know space dust had a life span before now. I guess that's part of their excuse. I wonder who came up with that, why, and how.
