I struggled where to put this, I think s/science is as suitable as any.
Another example of business practices using unstudied compounds results in great harm. The Radium girls would lick their brush tips before painting 'Unblack' on clock hands. Just like asbestos, vioxx and other compounds, no one knew the detriment to life they can cause until later. Is HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) harmful in this manner? The average American looks particularly unhealthy these days, what else is in our consumables hurting us?
