I think they're reviewing the language of the old-fashioned tags and labels. Misunderstandings surround assumptions that earlier groups of humans are sometimes called 'primitive' and are often shown with much darker skin, or with facial characteristics they may not have had, often with almost no clothing, and with the false idea that they lived in caves. Anthropologists update this material regularly. There is also new evidence that neanderthals lived with homo sapiens. The Science Museum displays might be out of date.
