north america was covered for the part, about 2 miles of ice, Look at younger dryas. Many believe it is was the source of the biblical flood that was recorded in every religon abound the world. and most likey why Gobekli Tepe was intentionally buried, to preserve it, also the great pyramids were covered in water at one point
