That's a Mercer Renaissance, almost identical to the Wusthof Ikon Classic, but it costs $50 instead of $200. Same german steel, very similar geometry. Probably the nicest Western style kitchen knife you can buy for under $100.

If you want Japanese steel there's options, but the Western styles are more versatile. If you're only going to have one chef knife, it should probably be a Western one. Although if you're going to have 2 or more, gyutos are nice to have.
