Men and women who don't have periods do have to be careful not to get too much iron. I had iron overload. I suspect it was from taking a multi vitamin in addition to cooking nearly everything in cast iron.

You give blood to fix it. Therapeutic phlebotomy.

Also if you feel you might be anemic it could well be a vitamin b12 or folate deficiency not iron so get blood tests done rather than just assuming.

Yes you are right, the chances of iron toxicity from your food may be low. It is recommended that before you take iron supplement, it is advice you see a doctor or registered dietitian nutritionist to prevent toxicity.
