https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Trade_Commission_Act_of_1914#Background

There was a strong antitrust movement to prevent manufacturers from joining price-fixing cartels.

Soon, US President Theodore Roosevelt created the Bureau of Corporations, an agency that reported on the economy and businesses in the industry.[1] The agency was the predecessor to the Federal Trade Commission.

In 1913, President Wilson expanded on the agency by passing the Federal Trade Commissions Act and the Clayton Antitrust Act.[1] The Federal Trade Commission Act was designed for business reform. Congress passed the act in the hopes of protecting consumers against methods of deception in advertisement and of forcing the business to be upfront and truthful about items being sold

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Freedom

As president, Wilson focused on three types of reform:

  • Tariff reform: This came through the passage of the Underwood Tariff Act of 1913, which lowered tariffs for the first time since 1857 and went against the protectionist lobby.

  • Business reform: This was established through the passage of the Federal Trade Commission Act of 1914, which established the Federal Trade Commission to investigate and halt unfair and illegal business practices by issuing "cease and desist" orders, and the Clayton Antitrust Act.

  • Banking reform: This came in 1913 through the creation of the Federal Reserve System and in 1916 through the passage of the Federal Farm Loan Act, which set up Farm Loan Banks to support farmers.

Wikipedia sucks, but it's convienient.

The worst betrayal by Wilson.

He gave the country to the (((banksters))), and lived his remaining days in regret.

Hang on Musky, Teddy Roosevelt was president from 1901 to 1909. Wiki really is convenient.

Yes, BISH, except for that flawed but otherwise accurate quote, he pretty much screwed up everything he touched. Two great American institutions started in 1913: income tax and the Federal Reserve System. How were those two related? There was nothing federal about it since it was and is privately owned by people whose names remain secret. Also, there is no reserve at all except US taxpayers.

Why is everybody getting so historically factual all of a sudden? Whatever happened to just winging it?

Would you be interested in learning how to become an American who is not legally obligated to play income taxes?

[–]chottohen[S] 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (37 children)

I'm not legally obligated to pay US taxes because I'm a resident of Japan and the two countries have a reciprocal tax agreement so expats do not get double taxed. But I would like to hear what you have to say.

hennaojisan,

You're a US citizen, right?

Did you know you're also a US national, which is a unique and distinctly different political status in the US? You're literally a citizen, and a national.

If you're a US national (only), but not a citizen then you're exempt from 99.9% of income taxes.

The IRS calls this class US national a "non-resident alien".

Are you still following what I'm saying so far?

I wanted to get his attention, and let him know I was legit.

Yes, I'm following you and that is exactly what my accountant in the US told me. Thanks to him, I have legally avoided paying any US taxes for many years though I do have to file every year. I do have to pay Japanese taxes on my income. Not all countries have reciprocal tax agreements with Japan.

Proof in the jurisdictional statement in the very first paragraph of the IRS code.

https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/26/1.1-1

26 CFR § 1.1-1 - Income tax on individuals.

(a) General rule.

(1) Section 1 of the Code imposes an income tax on the income of every individual who is a citizen or resident of the United States and, to the extent provided by section 871(b) or 877(b), on the income of a nonresident alien individual.

Only two small sections of the income tax code applies to US Nationals.

Note: the IRS has relabeled a US national as a "non resident alien", because if they called it a "US national" then everyone with any tax problem would do whatever it took to figure out what a national was, and how they could become one too.

It's hidden in plain sight.

Edit: /u/LarrySwinger2 are you a US citizen?

[–]LarrySwinger2 4 insightful - 4 fun4 insightful - 3 fun5 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

Nope, I'm a citizen of the Netherlands. I've friended you, by the way. You're officially on my list of good posters.

Sure, Larry. I was born in the State of North Carolina. And you are in The Netherlands, right? Are you an accountant? I thought that BISH was /u/JasonCarswell. I'm easily confused but this name game is fun.

I'm listening to your link now and it is really interesting. Now I understand what you were talking about. Thanks. And btw, I liked his reference to Babylonian horse thieves.

[–]JasonCarswell 3 insightful - 7 fun3 insightful - 6 fun4 insightful - 7 fun -  (2 children)

I'm not BISH, wut bish I was.

[–]BISH 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (11 children)

/s/chottohen I can confirm that this is legit. Really, it's better than described.

0% income taxes equates to a 40% increase in income.

100% - 30% = 70%

But...

100% / 70% = 142.9%, or a 42.9% increase in untaxed gains compared to previous take home earnings.

I wish more people could digest this material. It a personal revolution. It changes a person, and causes spiritual growth. It's indescribable. Truly.
When you know your are free.

Also, I believe you and I were here when Mr. /s/JasonCarswell arrived. He's come a long way since those days.

He's stepped up to the plate in an admirable way.

If/when you return, you can write an affidavit and notarize it.

Swear under penalty of perjury "my intention to be a national (which is the the original state citizen" status (renamed), formerly reserved for "white" Americans) ", but not a citizen".

Title this document "Affidavit of 'citizenship' evidence", which is the US state Dept terminology, so they can't claim confusion.

Then you're longer a US citizen (black former-slave status).

Next, notify the IRS that with a copy of your affidavit, and a brief cover letter.

Add a header to the IRS cover sheet "not to be construed as as filing", and "lawful legal notice"

And you're out of the income tax obligation.

Here's a link to the who, what, when, where, why's of the process.

Bro. I've already done this.

Being a US National is Tha BOMB!!! ;-)

I am looking for a Canadian equivalent of this status...

[–]LarrySwinger2 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (2 children)

Why do you want it? Canadians don't need to pay taxes to their country if they're a citizen in their own country, right?

[–]Alphix 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

What? You pay taxes or you get beat up and sent to jail.

[–]LarrySwinger2 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Maybe I'm confusing things. I know that Americans have to pay tax to the US government even if they're a resident of a different country. I thought the thread was about avoiding paying tax in two countries, but now I've read it more closely. I wouldn't know what you can do. Maybe you can declare yourself souvereign.

[–]BISH 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

I hope you find it.

This status is also eligible to naturalized citizens, so you could move here and do this.

[–]Alphix 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (4 children)

I could, but as a disabled and extremely ill individual unable to work, it wouldn't be easy by any measure, even though New Yuck state is less than an hour's drive from here. To boot, the USA is about to implode into a civil war, and I want no part of that.

[–]BISH 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

even though New Yuck state is less than an hour's drive from here.

Yeah. It'll be ugly here. Although, empire centers generally fare better than surrounding vassal states during/after collapse.

You live in Canada? I was stationed at Ft Drumm many years ago, and I used to go to Kingston to party. Been to Ottawa a few times to.

I don't miss the lake effect snow falls.

[–]Alphix 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Have you obtained this status then? It might be a bit more complicated for us in Québec since our law system is based on French law, although this is a federal thing... Hm...

"Meanwhile I can ask for one recent thing I heard about to share with you, and others." - I'm not sure what you are saying there...

again witnessing the same kinds concerns about powerful corporations and special interests that Wilson and others had

We agree on that, something has to be done about Big Tech just like the old institutions of the past that became powerful monopolies who controlled the powerful and every day man alike.
