I would really like some reasoning behind not joining teams with a name. So far, joining teams with a name has usually gone terribly for me, but there still isn't evidence for why it has gone so bad so far.

No man is an island, spelled with an I.

Some teams are good. BLINDLY following a team just for tribalism sake is stupid.

Forming a workers cooperative is creating a team. Everyone may get a vote on how it works etc. Outsiders must earn their way in. Outsiders can't just walk into a worker coop and use their resources, just like any other business.

Team sports are good as are individual sports. Teams are not inherently evil. And even if you don't join a team who's to say other teams won't be formed to team up on you.

A rebel without a cause is a person without good community.

Be a rebel but with a good cause.

Is he saying that all teams should remain anonymous?

I think he's saying more like a "I wouldn't want to join any club that would have me as a member" type of sentiment
