You're just giving more credence to the quote. Lighten up. Someone else could've come up with it but alas, it had to be a commie-loving pedo. He's a sick person if the allegations are true but it's in the past. Do you boycott Volkswagen because of its origins? You're also conflating communism with totalitarianism/authoritarianism. An economic system and a political system that are obviously not mutually exclusive but still two different systems with different goals and outcomes. Genocides are not exclusive to communist states either.

I like quoting Mark Twain as well. Please don't tell me he's done some shady things too... Trust me. If I had been aware of Sartre's misdeeds I wouldn't have quoted him. Provided the child abuse allegations are true. As for his political leanings, I don't really care. But siding with a tyrant and being oblivious to the mass starvation of millions of Ukrainians is unforgivable. Those are things I was unaware of. TIL
