Its typically futile to use facts and analysis with anyone that has a faith based stance on something (not exclusively religious). They have come to a conclusion and they know that "facts and analysis" can be falsified, poorly identified, or even just presented in a misleading manner (4 out of 5 dentist recommend colgate). This is quickly labeled as confirmation bias, but it is not necessarily a bad thing. If you could be swayed by every misleading "fact", people would shun you for that.

Sounds like a bible thumping Church of God member using circular logic. They will actually shout you down if you question them.
