There are rational reasons why people would want to limit their society to a small highly genetically homogeneous population. From an evolutionary perspective. And there are trade offs, diversity does have some benefits.

There are white, brown, black, asian people divided by their own individual socio-religio-cultural heritages,

Im gathering that you like bigger race categories and you think the distinctions like French vs Polish or Calvinist vs Lutheran are less important. Or do you think those distinctions are strictly cultural and dont have to do with genetics? Which units do you want to survive?

Well, since the post by OP deals with race, I referred to races being distinct in their biology and cultural base (even more so) and let them be in their own circles, you are now referring to ethnic identities I think, which is one step further from race, if they want to be in their own homogenous groups than fine, in summery I am in favour of diversity in terms of a microcosm rather than a homogenous multicultural soup.

German people are great at engineering. Irish people: not so much.

You dont think that’s biological? I absolutely do. Look at the different average IQ scores among european countries. That is biological diversity.

Notions of race and nationality are somewhat arbitrary. 100 years ago the British called the Irish a different race. But these concepts are based on two dimensions of differentness: genetic and cultural

And I guess when you commented on an obsession with racial purity, I thought to myself: he does not understand that race, as defined by genetic difference, is subjective and how you define it is a choice based on “purity” (level of genetic sameness) . It is not at all agreed whether there should be 3 races or 6 or 17 or 50. But it all hinges on the concept of purity aka genetic similarity. Its the central variable in a functional definition of race hence the obsession.

If we could discern the genetic similarities between an average German and Irish, that would be interesting. For most of us and I think the established consensus is too, that race is a collection of phenotypical similarities.
