More Great Vonnegut:

"Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded.
At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies—God damn it, you've got to be kind." - Kurt Vonnegut

Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let the pain make you hate. Do not let the bitter steal your sweetness.
Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree you still believe it to be a beautiful place. Kurt Vonnegut

Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance. Kurt Vonnegut

“A purpose of human life, no matter who is controlling it, is to love whoever is around to be loved.”

“Because we grew up surrounded by big dramatic story arcs in books and movies, we think our lives are supposed to be filled with huge ups and downs; so people pretend there is drama where there is none.” Kurt Vonnegut

And I asked myself about the present: how wide it was, how deep it was, how much was mine to keep. Kurt Vonnegut, Slaughterhouse-Five

I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center. Kurt Vonnegut

"We were United World Federalists back then. I don't know what we are now. Telephoners I guess. We telephone a lot." Kurt Vonnegut

I break the chains that bind me. I leave the clown I was behind me. It was wonderful of you to remind me, that if I looked I would find me. Kurt Vonnegut, A Song for Selma

Standing near the edge can be pretty 'blackpilling', as they call it. Gray nailed it in his poem.

No more; where ignorance is bliss,

  'Tis folly to be wise.

Vonnegut couldn't have chosen a more benign and massively understated word than 'embarrassment'. Can I have my ignorance back, please?

How could someone be embarrassed being human? That is kind of bizarre, and probably unhealthy.

I guess I could see someone being embarrassed for other things about their experience, but not being a human.

based on the artwork, i guess it's the technological improvements we're supposed to be embarrassed by? looks like something a leftist would make.
