So many bootlickers on the interwebs . . .
So many manipulated minds & war profiteers
So many gun lovers who also love and support the out of control military industrial complex
I keep seeing comments mocking Defund The Police, criticizing protestors, rioters, and looters
Do these deaf dumb and blind military minded pawns not feel the grip tightening on their necks yet!?!?

Fuck The Police. Fuck The Military Machine. Fuck Corrupt Career Politicians. Fuck All The Secrets and Lies!

The trouble is with your take is that Orwell spent years among those kinds of revolutionaries and protestors and 1984 was drawn of his experience of the way they operated so much as the state.

Sieg Heil! I agree! The people must ensure that whoever leads their nation truly represents them! When that happens, the police returns to their role as protectors of the people, to the point of being able to arrest people in positions of "power" for overstepping their mandate.

When did we see that? When did we see that and it led to a conviction and sentence that was not utterly ridiculous?

" the police returns to their role as protectors of the people "

They were never that.

Sigh. What's wrong with you lately.

That's what they SHOULD be.

What's wrong with me? You mean, why won't I agree with you on everything?

In this case, I do agree. That's what they SHOULD be.

AND, I stand by what I said. They were never that.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Well, yeah... What I meant by "what's wrong with you" is that I believed we should have enough of a mutual understanding that you would figure that my sentence of "returning to their role as protectors of the people" meant returning to their PRINCIPLED role...

And I agree, they were never that, but the principle is still valid.

Fuck pantifa and BLM too right? Or do you simply prefer a different flavor of boot?

“If you want a picture of the future , imagine a boot stamping on a human face…forever.

Is anyone interested in seeing an actual photo of this BOOT?

Look no further than The Bank of International Settlements.

It's literally the central bank, of the central banks.

Worker's unions are a pillow between the boot and the face.

A strong union will be a big fluffy pillow.

A bad union will be a thin shitty pillow.

Most people can't afford a pillow, not to mention they're brainwashed to not want one.

Regardless of the pillow, the pressure is always there.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (10 children)

Funny, my "pillow" negotiated absolute shit deals for me and my coworkers and then asked us to pay them dues in order to make sure we didnt get an even shittier deal.

Unions can and have been corrupted due to human greed. Most union bosses have more in common with a CEO than the people they claim to represent.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (9 children)

Exactly. Unions could soften the stomp, but too often don't.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

No, not exactly. You're claim is that Unions are a pillow and I'm saying that it total and utter horse shit. Unions are self serving entities that don't give a fuck about the people they claim to represent other than dues and using their enrolled members as a bargaining chip to get a select few in the group a higher paycheck at the expense of everyone else in said group.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (7 children)

I'll agree that many unions have been corrupted and make for shitty expensive "pillows" but that's a mighty wide brush to call all unions utter horse shit. We both know that is false as some were and some are good for folks - otherwise they never would have taken off. The corporatocracy had to deal with them 100 years ago, and now they really know how to deal with most of them.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

If 95% of unions are garbage then it's not that broad of a stroke to paint unions as bad now is it? I know they were needed in the past but they have morphed into the enemy of the people in modern times.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

Unions weren't always this bad. They were infiltrated and corrupted and there was a MAJOR media campaign against them since Reagan/Thatcher and before. The concept is still good. A worker coop union could fair much better.

I wouldn't call them the enemy of the people. I would call unions a tool, and like any device or system it can be used for good or weaponized for evil.

There's a good reason Amazon and Walmart won't allow their workers to unionize. Because it's effective.

Every little helps to those with almost nothing.

The alternative is to bend over and accept whatever they want to give you, without lube or pillows.

There's a good reason Amazon and Walmart won't allow their workers to unionize. Because it's effective.

It's effective at taking money from the companies but not at helping every member. I already said I understand that in the past they were necessary.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

As I said, a thin shitty pillow. Usually better than nothing.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

And im saying that no, at this point it isnt better than nothing because they are simply one more boot on the neck of working people.
