The world punishes you for valuing learning. I have 15 years experience and when I was looking for a job a few years ago, they would ask me what my college GPA was. I took harder classes about challenging subjects that interested me. My GPA wasn't bad, but I could have taken easy classes and have a 4.0 or cheated and got a 4.0.

Do you think that has anything to do with how it just feels like every exam is just a way to jerk off the school by showing off how great their scores are?

I've always felt like alot of those tests do just that, but I also understand that certain subjects, such as calculus /trigonometry simply trains your brain to think critically and logically instead of it being all about teaching you that sinx2+cosx2=1. Obviously those skills won't get you far unless you are in a specific career which uses formulas in their everyday jobs.

I guess it depends on what you study, but with that attitude you will be a pretty poor programmer, and will be exposed in an interview.
