As long as it's 100% grassroots voluntary libertarian-socialism, and not authoritarian top-down forced socialism like the USSR or Mao's China... if it's the latter then we just wind up in the same situation all over again!

But the former could be a way out of this authoritarian system we find ourselves in... it just takes cooperation and everyone doing their part to build a system that is so good it makes the old system obsolete

There was nothing SOCIALIST about the USSR or China. Yes, I am aware that Marx and Lenin tried co-opting the word for their purposes because, believe it or not, back then SOCIALISM was a noble and smart set of ideas. So Marx and Lenin called their horrors "socialism done right" and their empire, "Socialist". But that does not make it true. In fact, when you use their co-opted meaning for this word, YOU ARE REPEATING MARXIST-LENINIST PROPAGANDA! And yes, most of the Western English-language mainstream (and non-mainstream) media are guilty of this.
