I love this because that is a sweet cannabis plant in the picture with the quote, but pre-judice against people extends way past that. To me, all small minded racist assholes just haven't lived much or met enough people in their life, otherwise they would learn that we are more similar than we are different and that we're all in this together, but in some people's "limited experience" they are full of hate and shit and they shine a weak light into the world. No thanks, they can keep that!

My issue tends to be the small minded “Liberals” who judge the people in the “flyover states.” One of my black friend’s used to live in a very liberal, very white part of town. She’d lived all over the city and country and found it to be one of the racist places ever.

It’s true that many “bigots” are such because of their limited experience, though. When I lived in the American South, I had a coworker who always told n***** jokes. I could tell by the other perspectives that he had, though, that he wasn’t really actually all that racist. He’d just been kind of raised to think that’s how guys related to each other.

And sure enough after months of me not making any sort of big deal about his jokes, he finally one day just said, “You know, I don’t really have anything against black people.” And never told a joke like that again.

Sometimes people can surprise you when you let them.
