The latest on this theme, often discussed here on Saidit.

I post this to highlight the kernel of this counselor's argument.

She's saying that because these people didn't ask for the emotional response to children that they have, it is a natural phenomenon and should thus be treated no differently than the sexuality of a heterosexual or homosexual adult-attracted person. In short, it's natural, not in their control, so they shouldn't be punished for it.

The easy counter to this argument is that murderous rage is also a natural phenomenon. People who murder didn't ask to have that rage, so why do we condemn them?

Just because something is "natural" does not mean it should be accepted by society. Our laws are written precisely to limit these "natural" problems, not to create an all-natural free-for-all.
