It's an interesting psyop.

If Russia is planning something, being ahead of it will help coral the public into supporting a new US hot war against Russia, and might even scare Russia off from invading.

If Russia isn't planning anything, it will help scare the public into supporting a new US cold war against Russia, and might even scare Russia off from responding.

too little too late, the internet makes most threats redundant, I have more friends in Russia then I do my own country, they will be fighting a losing battle.
