Yet another example of modern religious leaders having entirely forgotten their roots. Jesus was the guy who went among the "untouchables" of his day telling them that morality is more important than power, as such being quite unpopular among the authorities - as the end of his life demonstrated. That message has zip zilch zero to do with what we are hearing from the Archbishop of Canterbury.

It is interesting, actually, watching how the divide between authoritarians and individualists is dividing the church, just as it's dividing families and friends. There are church men who recognize the authoritarians for what they are, and then there are men like this. If we could cleanly separate these two populations, we might stand a chance at developing peace in the individualist zones. But no. The world doesn't work that way, sadly.

He's placing his faith a lot of different places, in companies that have payed billions in fines, in corrupt politicians, in unaccountable bureaucrats, and in data and "science" he'll never scrutinize, but not where his faith and expertise should be. It's like he's to God what Ron Swanson was to government.

Yeah, and a lot of Priests have taken said 'Love Thy Neighbor' nonsense a bit too far, especially with the younger lot, no?

Who in their right mind is going to listen to any Theological Fiction from any of them, especially him..?
