Related thing I saw that's not quite as gory but has the same idea: https://toinformistoinfluence.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/198398_424402037583038_642096662_n.jpg
It's kind of unfortunate how easy it is to game human emotions if you just want to provoke a reaction. A lot of ideologies use the media like this to spread.

i try to make myself aware, to detect, each time a newspiece and headline is targeting my emotions. its a big red flag. it means its not journalism (facts, deduction, the five w's), but propaganda.
the mainstream culture is very emotion driven, by design ofc, to make us vulnerable to these primitive manipulations.

Exactly, well said. Another indicator is if the news has no actionable information that related to you. Like I saw the news talking about some story about a lady stealing ornaments off of people's graves. Pointless to talk about in depth, other than to get people emotionally stirred up.

Do you know any good news sources? I have recently become more aware of how biased news can be even for one's own viewpoint.

well, both saidit and voat are good prefilter-aggregators and even reddit with the right mixture of multi-subs is fine once you learn who the shills are :-)
in general, avoid msm and use a 'xyz exposed' searchterm whenever in doubt.
a good news outlet will allow comments...
practice makes perfect

This is an amazing propaganda image about propaganda. I'm definitely saving it.
