Trump has deescelated conflict more than any other president in modern history. To the extent that he didn't go far enough I would blame his deep state advisors. He should have known better than to trust them. But given all available information I am willing to give him some leeway.

Eh, I'll grant that he didn't start any new wars which is more than we can say about other recent presidents. And, he did deescalate the tension with North Korea. But afor his cabinet, if he really wanted to end the wars why nominate hawks like John Bolton, Mike Pompeo, Jim Mattis and other swamp creatures like Jeff Sessions? You can only excuse so much from ineptitude.

And for actual actions, so far he's done little to remove troops from the middle east like he promised. It's hard to get an accurate gauge of troop counts, but to my knowledge all he's done is shuffle them around a little. Take a few out of Syria, send some to Iraq... I know he's ordered a bunch home from Iran and Afghanistan by Jan. 15, but he's had 4 years to do it and it seems like too little too late. And don't even get me started on Yemen, the greatest humanitarian crisis of our lifetime that the US is totally complicit in, and nothing but radio silence from Trump.
