"How would you contribute to a greener workplace in your role?"

Normies will come up with crap about reducing the amount of paper used by sending emails instead, modern scum will rant about their vegan protester lifestyle, etc. It's a fairly innocent question with very telling results.

I'd say something like "use green paint" but I'm a tard like that lol.

You're hired

Ask him how he would deal with someone saying offensive stuff in the office.

If he would take it up with the person and sort it out himself or just suck it up he's a decent person.

If he says he'd snitch to the boss or try to get the person socially excluded or sacked then he's evil.

You need to give us two or three sentences describing what you mean by "modern scum." Do you mean hipsters?

Silicon valley psychopathic programmer scum. They smile, act friendly, say certain phrases like "Hey there stranger", but in reality they are nasty evil assholes, who will stab you in the back, are communist, ban you from forums, force you to do pointless crap, and like to impose complicated unusable software on people. They are truly the most vile people on earth.

Ask questions that give them away, maybe what they did productive-wise during the plandemic, maybe ask questions that probe into their attitudes about individualism vs collectivisim. These jackasses HATE individualism. You can also scan for pronouns, that always gives them away.

Thanks. I know some of those. The ones who make me click OK three times to quit an app. Modern scum has a nice ring to it.

I think the easiest, and the first way, is to describe the levels of competency you're looking for, and then describe the culture and ethics you expect of the environment your in.

Looking for trick questions to pigeon hole someone into a defined category isn't fair to anyone, and it is borderline becoming the thing you hate to weed out the thing you hate.

You can easily state, "we're not an overtly Catholic company, but our culture and environment lean heavily toward those values.. respect for teammates, integrity in with ethic, and being a beacon of light in a woke culture that is increasingly dark".

I can tell you, saying something like that, they'll likely withdraw their application if they're really woke.

You don't know the person's motivation, they might desperately need the job, so they'll state whatever they think you're after to get hired. Rather than assume, just be up front. If course, if you're running an abortion mill on the side and they knows that, then all vets are off..

Or infiltrate deliberately and use the crazed California courts for a manufactured offense.

Ask "10 things you would do with pen" He will definitely answer about sticking it up his ass, no cap.

That, uh... doesn't hold quite as much weight.

Just ask for sample code. I can tell if someone is modern scum within about 3 seconds of looking at their code. It doesn't matter what the code does, so ask for any sample. You could discuss the code in the interview but the problem is that your boss probably won't follow the conversation. So sample code is mostly for your sake, so you know if he is modern scum.

In the interview, I suggest asking the applicant to name something he doesn't like about a standard library and how he would change it. This should be a topic that everyone can follow. If he is modern scum then he will come up with something absurd and you should be able to verbally destroy him.

But if he is a modern scum, won't he agree with all the horrible libraries he uses? Modern scum follow trends, so they will appreciate something standard for the sake of being standard. Standard means that everyone uses it.

I was thinking of them criticizing some old library. Anyway, you may be right. Whatever question you choose, you can test it by asking the question on Reddit. If the answers are insane, then you have a good question. Using this for selection, you could ask some simple design question after testing it on Reddit. I will try to think of something.

[–]trident765[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I think I thought of a good question.

Most members of my group more or less have a specific domain they are responsible. One person is responsible for software A, another for software B, etc. I think they like this model, because it gives them the opportunity to become subject matter experts in their own domain. But modern scum are absolutely revolted by this idea. They believe that instead everyone should have equal ownership of every software. So I can capitalize on this to get modern scum candidates to give an answer my group members won't like.

My question will be: "Do you prefer a model where each person is responsible for a particular software, or do you prefer a more collaborative model where everyone works together on every software". If he is a modern scum, he will say he likes the collaborative way better, and I think this will make my team mates dislike him.

[–]fschmidt 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

That sounds good. I didn't know that modern scum like collaborative programming, but it makes sense.

[–]trident765[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

When the modern scum took over my department at my last workplace, one of the first things the head scum did was he held a meeting where he said that from now on, for any project that anyone wants to work on that has an estimated timeframe of more than a half-day, we need to submit a written request to form a "team" for the project, which needs to be approved by him. In the meeting I asked if some "teams" might consist of only one person. Then one of the head scum's henchmen responded saying that his feeling would be no, because all work is better when done collaboratively. Then the head scum responded saying that he agrees with the henchman scum.

Then a month later, when they shut down my project, the main reason they gave was that my code was bad because it wasn't written collaboratively.

I like your answer. It sounds weird to a non-programmer, but if someone is a cuck I can 100% see it in their code. It's kind of like how you can spot a fag by his overly trendy decor, or a European by his glasses or necktie. You just know.

If I'm interviewing you and you make needless interfaces for your sample code, or use long, multi-case identifiers, I'll decide you're a cuck and I won't hire you

Do you play any instruments?

Not sure why, but every time someone plays an instrument they've outperformed people who don't.

But what if he gives the right answer (because he's been reading this post) and he turns out to be scum anyway? And the best question to ask is very simple: How can we weed out modern scum in a company?

[–]IndianaJones 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Would you hug modern scum for 1 billion dollars?

[–]SoCo 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

All people are scum, you really just want to know if this scum is able to code. The really good coders seem frequently poorly able to socialize or articulate their skills, so it is hard to know.
