so...acid could just be enhancing shortcuts from the middle of the visual cortex to our consciousness.

Acid creates a lot of connections between parts of the brain that never normally communicate, and our conscious experience is a product of how the brain is networked on a micro and macro level.

yeah i mean if you did it once you definitely have more say about this than me. i got that conclusion from looking at trippy art and neural network internals.
