Lol for real. Even saidit is like 10-20 different technologies all stacked carefully upon each other.

I hope someday in the future we see more integration of these stacks in to singular languages that are well-built. Right now it seems very patchwork

I think the current situation is mainly caused by JavaScript's monopoly. It may improve when WebAssembly becomes more widespread.

Yeah most of those just demonstrate the problem of the npm ecosystem.

There are ways to write clean, modular software not bloated by 100's of insecure dependencies and over-engineered solutions that you actually require 0.01% of.

Regular old HTML still works right?

Yes, I make my personal websites in pure HTML/CSS/JS and they work well and load very fast.

Theoretically.

Dunno, dude. Notepad is still standing strong. Notepad++ I mean: batch files and all the little things. Sometimes I use browser developer tools (console) to make quick calculations in js.

Ugh.

From 2004-2008 I was heavily invested in Delphi and it was as simple as it could get: install IDE, then begin to code.

I recently took programming again and it was a nightmare to catch up with the modern developing mindset: framework on top of framework, libraries everywhere to perform basic functions (I really hate Java), lambdas, npm, git, etc.

I catched up with modern times, but it was unfunny and frustrating.

The problem is with JavaScript - not Java. You really have been out of the loop.

No. I really meant Java. I hate it with all my guts. Fortunately, it's no longer the default programming language for Android Studio. I like Kotlin way better.

I think Javascript is just kinda ugly mashup of badly implemented good intentions but it's gladly evolving. I love Typescript, to be honest.

Well that's because you're an Ex-Delphi clown and are jealous.

You know... the only people who fight over OS and programming languages are those with soiled underwear. Since my underware is quite clean, I'll let you do all the fighting.

Have fun.

Stay ignorant. I figured you were anyway when you mentioned Delphi.

You'll be able to put a lot of words on your CV.
