The command 'visudo' doesn't work. I am the root user, according to the 'whoami' command. When I do the 'apt-get install sudo -y' command, it says that there's no such package available for installation.

I'm not familiar with Debian so that's why my help isn't that great. Anyway skip the sudo and just try to get GPG going with the root user.
Or bail and use Mint and you'll be done in 20 mins after install.

'With the root user?' As I said, I am the root user. In a fit of rage and because I don't want to give more data to Microsoft, I decided to install the Linux Mint ISO onto one of my USB sticks (without verifying). Maybe I'll just use regular Linux for GnuPG.

Yes as root try
apt-get install gnupg2
And
apt-get install gnupg
I'm happy that you're getting off the M$ train.

Oh, now it's telling me about broken packages. Look, I made a new post about Kleopatra, and clearing that up will make everything a lot easier. Just help me with that please. https://saidit.net/s/privacy/comments/q7n/fixing_my_decryptverify_problem_with_kleopatra/

Okay I'll give it a go. Yeah it sounds like your Debian install got off track and broken somehow.
Thanks for helping me so much. Sorry, is it okay if I see you as a friend? We're both people who hate Microsoft's privacy issues. I'm curious, what's your main operating system?

Yeah man let's be friends. I'm on Manjaro right now but I started with Mint. I am interested in more free and more privacy focused distros.
