When visiting the UK I've had the "porn" filter stop all kinds of things unrelated to porn. Top kek was blocking several ww2 era weapons articles, probably for being gun porn.

Do you mean the ISP-level filter? I'm pretty sure that works on DNS – though I'm only familiar with it taking out piracy sites like The Pirate Bay. (I have no pirated media on my device to my knowledge, in case you were wondering.)
