Alexa Toolbar has access to all sites you visit, and collects everything you do, so it can get "free statistics"; 600.000+ users have already installed it (they are not very bright, are they?)

And Alexa's web rankings are widely cited and shared as evidence that a site is getting bigger. Saidit itself has bragged of rising in the ranks.
