The battle cry of the authoritarian. These big companies should be broken up. Too bad our anti-trust laws are no longer enforced, because big corporations lobbied to have them disabled. How are the people of America supposed to get their power back when all the avenues for change are blocked up by billionaires and corporations owned by those billionaires?

Become nerds, quit smart phones, setup own mail and search engines, hord knowlegde in publicly owned libraries/databases... Basically become Amish but with Techbooks instead of the bible.

But yeah, car companies signing google for navigation, government institutes using google documents/facebook sign in. It's going be hard for a 'normal' person to step outside it all.

So basically you're asking people to stop being consumers, in a society that is geared almost entirely around consuming.

When google sugest you use Google+ because Facebook has too many users and your search/gmail sugest you are a normal person with limited amount of connections per day.

This will be great for anyone who believes in alternative media or who questions governmental offical stories like 9/11. What better way than to have a for profit coporation monitor and fix your mental health. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Doctors, not software companies, should monitor your health.

I will agree that a digital interface to allow you to view your digitally-stored records is not a bad idea.

HOWEVER

If the doctor or his staff give up on using the telephone, or even snail mail, because all they know how to do for their jobs is use their magic system instead of the telephone or snail mail, then they deserve to be out of business.

Sacrificing patient care to make the office staff's life easier is the opposite of patient care.
