I'm so sick of this every-which-way surveillance state crap. It's starting to feel like we're all being duck-taped to a chair with bright lights glaring in our face just for being alive.

Real idea won't matter soon enough, with improved facial recognition. Your genome is mostly mapped out anyways, even if your specific genes aren't.

I think that's a separate privacy issue, though none the less important.

Real ID essentially creates a federal facial ID database that all these different agencies have access to, not to mention local and state officialsas well.

Imagine at some point not being able to fly because the IRS flagged you for some particular reason. Or Imagine being scanned at your local courthouse or after being in a routine traffic stop and then being jailed because AI facial recognition says you might be a partial match for a crime that was committed somewhere and you have to be investigated.

That's just a couple of examples of misuse, let alone actual nefarious misuse problems.

It's also important to understand that there were still several (i think 5) states that were and are holdouts to REAL ID. Though, some of them have capitulated, and others give you the option not to have REAL ID. Though you specifically have to all for it.

I wrote a couple of senators in Missouri a long time ago where i had extended family and let them know i was glad they were giving people the option to opt out. I think they were voted out of office after though, the people just can't be bothered with inconvenient privacy.

This is why I am glad that my Oklahoma DL is not REAL ID compliant. I would rather have my ID expire than to be subject to a REAL ID compliant ID.
