To be fair to AOC, I would wager most people wouldn’t know their own congressperson, let alone one from another state. So I can understand why her unknown factor might be so high. If you don’t watch cable news, you probably have no idea who she is. And I know she’s not popular with your more middle of the road and conservative Democrats. She’s only really popular with the far left and people like Ben Shapiro (who I’m sure has a secret crush on her).

Well it certainly would have helped visibility if the people who were backing her ideas had voted more than just "present" :\ Given the nearly relentless posting about her on the internet, I would have expected her to be slightly more recognized than the poll says.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for saving the world but there's just too much chicanery going on in the political/media sphere at this point. The fact that a politician attempting to solve major problems in a sweeping way, can't get much hold - worries me.
