In a 2002 New York magazine profile, Trump said of convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein:

"I've known Jeff for fifteen years. Terrific guy. He's a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it—Jeffrey enjoys his social life." source: newsweek.com

In 2019, after Epstein's arrest, Trump distanced himself from Epstein, stating:

"I had a falling out with him a long time ago. I don't think I've spoken to him for 15 years. I was not a fan of his. That I can tell you." source: nbcnews.com

Maybe Trump was trying to protect his own self, since it was going public that his friend was a convicted pedophile.

Trump knew that Epstein liked women "on the younger side" and associated that thought with saying he's a lot of fun to be with. What was fun?

Did you know they both took turns "dating" the same woman? Donald Trump was twice her age and still legally married to his second wife at the time.

Jeffery Epstein was not indicted for a sexual offense until 2006.

So, what Trump said in 2002 was not said about a “convicted pedophile” when he said it.

When Trump later determined that funny business was occurring, he separated from Epstein.
