It is probably to prevent them speaking out about the invasion of their country by violent criminal sub human immigrants. If anyone had reason to rise up and overthrow their government it is the Irish people.

This isn't even hyperbole. According to this video, even if you just come on Saidit to say that, for example, 1cemokney's opinions are bullshit, under the new law proposed for Ireland, you can be forced to hand over your phone's password, and if they see you visit a site that allows OTHER PEOPLE to say things that are Haram, the Irish government can press hate speech charges against you.

    As an American Citizen I have now lived at length to 5 foreign countries 1 of them muzzy and all without ever visiting one of their jails. I have met on my travels other Americans who just could not keep their fucking yap closed thinking they were fine and o no they were not. I am quite aware that other countries can and will do whatever the fuck their culture is and I need to be mindful of that. I visit 2 cities in Nation of Ireland and will continue to do so and keep my fucking mouth closed about their own business. There is 100% NOTHING on either my phone or laptop that would lead to my arrest and I am the only one responsible for my words and deeds when I travel.

    Shame. You'd think once Ireland became a Republic, it would have eschewed a government modeled after the English. Seems like they have very much embraced it and the culture. For a nation that values free speech and language (the Irish language damn near died out), Ireland would be champions not scolds. It's as if communism/socialism has weaseled its way into on the outside looks like a Western country. Will we get some good, Irish poems about it from writers locked up in jail for free speech?
