in which trans people are murdered about every 11 days, carrying a gun and knowing how to use it does make sense.

Huh, maybe it's just me, but something about pairing 'Day of Vengeance' with guns, just doesn't sound like it's all that self-defense oriented

They say that the best defence is a good offence.

It's about visibility. They're hoping to reduce attacks on trans people by seeding the idea that they might be packing a gun.
