Part of the problem is that the GOP have thwarted every attempt at accountability and transparency over the years, thereby expanding the corruption envelope for politicians. And the DOJ are dragging their feet on the Jan 6th report. Which means that lawsuits against Trump are generally unrelated to the interests of the GOP.

Here is are lists of lawsuits which have been appropriately addressing the corrupt bastard's illegal activities:

Hedges wasn't saying Trump didn't do those things. He hates Trump, he is just suggesting that the corruption isn't the reason the Democrats really hate him, but because he has revealed the deeper corruption of the underlying system itself that the Democrats are also a part of

Yes - reports for the past 40 years have shown that lawmakers become millionaires soon after election to office, partially because of insider investments they can arrange with the help of immediate acces to top secret intelligence documents. Here's a recent report. So we know that all lawmakers want a piece of that pie, which is obviously corrupt. Pelosi stood in the way of investor reform a few years ago. They also protected Trump. Perhaps he no longer has their protection, but he probably knows enough about some of them to keep some of that protection. He's also had major international protection from Russia, China, Israel, Turkey and other countries. I think Hedges makes some good points, but none of that is new. What's new is that the latest lawsuits might be difficult for Trump to avoid.
