It's sad they only got a few thousand folks so close to bigger cities - and with major indie media publicity.

We've had same or bigger rallies with Chris Sky in Ontario, with only social media, flyers, etc.

I'm pretty sure Putin didn't actually intend for a year long war. He thought the whole thing would be done in weeks.

He hasn't given up yet because of sunk cost fallacy.

He's holding ground on one side of a river. If you don't get it, allow me to explain. It's already over.

Yup. That's what you get for surrounding yourself with Yes Men

You get what? Exactly what they want? I'm fairly certain that Russia has secured the regions to the East of the Dieneper and are establishing a new border on the river.

TIL - so I look up Codepink and:

CODEPINK is a feminist grassroots organization working to end U.S. warfare and imperialism, support peace and human rights initiatives, and redirect resources into healthcare, education, green jobs and other life-affirming* programs.

OK - groovy, but what about 'a just war', one in which the US helps neighbors who are suffering genicide at the hands of Nazis, Putinesque fascism, and other genocidal programs? Perhaps let that happen for a while and step in later, when it will be more costly? Let the genocide and extreme income inequality of fascism spread beyond Russia, China, India, Brasil and other countries? What will happen to the sisters of Codepink when that happens? Will they enjoy better healthcare, education, green jobs and other life-affirming programs? This co-founder is obviously incredibly stupid.

Codepink was always pushed by the neocons to be their preferred opposition, going back to the Iraq war. They intentionally promoted this organization with this completely emasculated name and persona so that it wouldn't attract anyone but boomer soccer moms and quirky feminists.

Now a new breed of neocon pushing endless Ukraine war are bringing back codepink for the same purpose.

Don't believe a word she says. A snippet from her early life

Susan Benjamin was born September 10, 1952 and grew up in Freeport, New York, on Long Island, a self-described "nice Jewish girl".[2]
