The January 6 commission presented pretty good evidence of four crimes.

Obstruction of an official proceeding
Conspiracy to defraud the United States
Conspiracy to make a false statement to the federal government
Inciting, assisting or aiding insurrection

I would expect him to be charged.

I thought they presented and excellent case showing there was no crime and the whole thing to be a tax-payer defrauding politicized grasping at straws. Nothing they presented is even close to prosecutable, from what I saw.

Can you clarify why not?

Expert legal opinion seems to be that if they can show criminal intent, then he'll go down for 6 years or 20 if he's charged under terrorism laws.

And I think the table of what trump was told, and what trump later lied about in the executive summary of the January 6 commission report does a spectacularly meticulous demonstration of that.

You charge Trump with so much is a parking ticket and there will be no more United States of America. What’s happening in Brazil is going to happen here. Trump will be president for life and all who stand in the way of him obtaining the absolute power he has earned the right to wield will be destroyed for treason.

Not only that, but everybody who persecuted the freedom fighters of January 6 will be arrested and executed for terrorism. Stolen elections justify insurrections, especially when they are stolen to wage war against people of color in the name of white supremacy and stealing oil and land that rightfully belongs to people of color. Trump is the only good president we have ever had or ever will have. There is nothing wrong with using forced to take back a stolen election. It’s in the constitution. It’s part of the well regulated militia part of the second amendment. Everything done to the capital on January 6 by those courageous freedom fighters was made legal by every single solitary United States coup since the end of World War II. We know politics can find 15 intelligence sources to flat out lie to the public and it is no small feat to find one lawyer to give a good biased spin. They didn't even show causation, rather on criminal intent. Bipartisan protesters stormed the US Capitol because they were upset at election concerns they felt were ignored and refused to be investigated. If you don't take election concerns seriously, they you are going to have a bad time in government.

Bipartisan protesters stormed the US Capitol because they were upset at election concerns they felt were ignored and refused to be investigated.

That's not in line with what we know. Far right christian terrorists stormed the capital in response to Trump's call for them to be there. With the intent of disrupting the election certification, and the peaceful transfer of power. They showed up with AR-15s, and Trump attempted to have the metal detectors removed so that they could march on the capital armed.

If you don't take election concerns seriously, they you are going to have a bad time in government.

The January 6 commission details the lies Trump spread to incite "election concerns". It is clear that he knew they were lies. You should know that too.

Ex presidents make a lot of money from speaking. The Clintons also made a lot from book sales. Schumer's pretty intelligent. A lot of people who got in early on apple did very well.

Pelosi I know less about her investments. But they're all nearer $100M than $200M. Certainly insider trading should be investigated and charged, but it's a smaller problem to democracy than selling nuclear secrets to Saudi Arabia, or a global platform to North Korea, or selling presidential pardons by the hundred.

Russia invaded a neighbour. Not usually a problem, but they did the same thing 8 years ago, and Ukraine has a lot of support on the ground in Europe, because they were moving closer to the EU until the political manipulation by the oligarchs in mid January 2014. That resulted in new laws cracking down on gatherings, speech, the internet, and creating impunity for police.

There is neo-Nazism in Ukraine. And Russia. And USA. They don't control the government. Not even close. Their president is a Jew who lost family in the Holocaust.

You need to make investments with about 12% compounding return to get $100K per year investment to $100M after 40 years. It's not impossible, but it's pretty good. If there was insider trading it should be prosecuted. The numbers themselves aren't sufficient evidence of that. You need to look to see if there were specific investments (or divestments) just prior to announcements that they might have had foreknowledge of.

Not exactly. It's difficult to pursue. The Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act signed into law by Barrak Obama in 2012 helped, but it probably should be stronger, as it requires the executive branch to enforce it, which raises concerns regarding the separation of powers.
