Members of the professional class are often the most indoctrinated of all people, and for one of them to break from the paradigm and speak against the establishment is considered the utmost betrayal.

Peterson is being targeted with a special brand of bureaucratic attention because the establishment uses the professional class to convince and control the general public. The claim that the “experts have spoken” is the ultimate tool for manipulating a majority of the population, and when some of those experts contradict the narrative, the powers-that-be take particular notice.

This quote is literally 100% what Orwell was writing about in 1984. He made it quite clear that the Party didn't care much about day-to-day crime. Their focus was to make absolutely sure that "members of the party" - at whatever level - MUST tow the line. That is the precise job of the Thought Police. Peterson is being "re-educated". They literally couldn't plagiarize more directly the concept Orwell was writing about. It's not enough that someone like Peterson be eliminated; he must be "reformed" before they eliminate him.

It's terrifying and so very very predictable watching this kind of news knowing the pattern because until a short time ago, we were educated to avoid precisely what is now being presented as progress. They are so fucking predictable... and have zero self-awareness, believing themselves to be the saviors from the very totalitarianism that they themselves propagate. Arrogant, narcissistic sociopaths. We've faced this group since the beginning of complex societies, and it appears we've learned almost nothing in how to handle them.

Sigh.

Peterson is controlled opposition. He's a part of the system.

1984 was Orwell describing what already existed in the 1940's during WWII. Orwell was also a part of the system. He was teasing us with the truth.

You're taught to read 1984, what you're not taught is that you've been in it since birth.
