...says the US gov't "think tank" charged with providing press smokescreens for whatever expansionism the US wants NATO to do for them.

A think tank has its policy position. That's how they get donors.

But compared to going toe to toe with Russia in Syria, where the costs were high ... and we lost ... Supporting Ukraine is decreasing instead of increasing Russian influence, and strengthening NATO.

All for less cost.

It’s Costing Peanuts tens of thousands of Ukrainian lives and increasingly risking a civilization ending nuclear war for the US to Defeat enter into a costly stalemate in it's proxy war with Russia

To be fair the Ukrainian lives were going to be fucked by Russia's ethnic cleansing policy.

Supplying them the resources to resist is going to save those lives.

The risk of nuclear war is real. But if nuclear powers can just annex their neighbours, then we've come to the wrong approach to the nuclear deterrent.

Israel is a nuclear power that is annexing more and more territory from its neighbors every year, and what they do to the population of this annexed territory is apartheid at best and ethnic cleansing at worst, and they are “our greatest ally”.

Also true.

Supporting Ukraine is still a sound investment.

No its costing a fortune, as well as massively disrupting the oil and grain markets. What it isn't costing is U.S. lives, just Ukrainian ones, which apparently is much more popular with the voters
