Btw, most alt-right people used to be conservatives who denounced big government and all "alt" ideologies. What changed your mind?

What changed your mind?
I never had my mind changed because I was never a liberal in any sense, left or right. I never cared about 'big government' etc.
My relevant education on these topics though: I read Plato, Machiavelli, Schmitt, and others; I studied great men such as Napoleon and Caesar; I studied empires. Basically I became learned and began to understand how power, politics etc work rather than crying and wishing for the universe to change its laws based on my whims.
I would recommend reading 'Imperium' by Francis Parker Yockey for a crash course.

Emperors such as Napoleon and Caesar were not good. Yes they accomplished a lot, but a lot of those things were bad. They are exactly the kind of people you don't want to have any power, and who are the most desperate to obtain it. Disagree with him or even make him suspicious and you face a savagely cruel execution.

Conversely, what kind of leaders would you say were mostly good for their country?

That's a tough question. Thomas Jefferson was pretty good, aside from being a slave owner and I think he didn't hold to his philosophy when he actually took office. Barry Goldwater would've been good. JFK was okay, Ronald Reagan was okay. Ron Paul would be pretty good. Donald Trump would've been okay if he weren't so full of himself. I'm not a huge fan of one big leader, so I haven't gone extremely in-depth on this. People are corrupt though, that's for sure.
