Long ago, when the Soviet Union fell, there was an interview with a citizen who said something to the effect of, "We have just destroyed the United States of America. We have taken away your enemy."

Very perceptive and pertinent comment.

The problem is, my hatred for the government is based on patriotism. Since I believe in the original documents, I must object to the current Fed and nearly everything they do. All of this makes the Fed's assertion that I'm a dangerous radical, Anti-American.

Tyrannical government, declares citizens against tyranny to be enemies of the state.

It's almost too cliche.

You've captured a sensation that's been in the background for me, but I didn't have words for it. Thanks.

I disagree. The internet is certainly not an untarnished force for good. The "enemies" you talk of are using it as best they can to sow confusion (they are very skilled), but the capacity for instantaneous direct communication (without them in the middle) still exists in the cracks of the internet, and that is causing them a great deal of trouble. The vast majority of what is published is crap, but near the edges amazing material can still be found. Remember that before the internet, the only relatively-real-time media (TV and Radio) made it almost impossible for Joe SixPack to broadcast. The internet provides at least a marginal voice for Joe that didn't exist before. TPTB are working overtime to figure out how to stifle that voice, but without entirely shutting the thing down, they haven't found a way to do so without outing themselves as just another CCP. I see hope in that.
