I'd say an entire city without drinkable water is a pretty radical situation.

The word "radical" comes from the Latin word radix, which means root. So being "radical" means going to the root of the problem. I highly doubt this nigger was doing that.

The city-run O.B. Curtis Water Plant has been plagued with issues for years and has issued numerous boil water notices, but recent flooding impeded its ability to offer reliable running water to 180,000 Jackson residents.

recent flooding

all for calling shit out, but these things do not appear connect (aka their policies did not create flooding which created the shortage nor apparently did it create the plant that is plague with this problem for years)

if there was a connection , the caller didn't make it

The city spends months per year on boil water notices. The current situation is because backup pumps don't have the capacity necessary. They're on backup pumps because the primaries failed a month ago (hence the current month-long boil notice) and the city utterly neglected to fix their shit.

According to the linked article which you read surely and just forgot it says this, the current mayor campaigned in part on promises to fix chronic problems with the city's water infrastructure!

FIRST: problems at the Curtis Water Plant are not the responsiblity of the mayor.

In a nutshell, this is the problem with the arguments you and your allies have put together for the past 6 years. It's NEVER your responsibility. It's always someone else's fault. Bringing this to the national level, your allies currently have held power in both houses of congress and the executive for the past two years. But the problems are not your fault. It's that damned "Trump" effect! If those damned MAGA types would just shut up and go along, we'd be rainbows and skittles. People are getting mighty tired of this. I have never been a Trump supporter, but what you have refused to acknowledge from 2015 until the current moment is that Trump was only ever secondarily chosen because of his ideas. Trump was (and is, though less and less each day) a phenomenon in response to the radical failure of your own side. People didn't so much choose Trump as they very thoroughly REJECTED Hillary Clinton and the Obama nation of the prior eight years. People are now once again thoroughly REJECTING the Biden extension of precisely that same effect.

You have the levers of power. When shit is going so badly south under your watch, it's YOUR responsibility, not that of your opponents who are pointing out your flaws. You seem incapable of accepting responsibility for the real-world consequences of your policies. Instead, it's one blame game after another. This seems to be pathological with your side of the debate.

Anyone connecting the BLACK mayor to the CORRUPT AF Mississippi old boy network that did NOT allocate enough funding to fix the water treatment plant is as mean as they are stupid.

Looks like decades of mismanagement. Everything went to shit when white people left. The people in the comments here have a point.

You and not reading your own links lol.

Pursuant to §41-26-7 of Mississippi Safe Drinking Water Act of 1997 and based on the Declaration, the State Health Officer hereby orders that the City of Jackson including, but not limited to, employees of the Public Works Department and Emergency Management immediately cooperate with state response teams and contractors deployed to augment current staffing and to take remediation actions deemed necessary by the State Incident Commander.

Notwithstanding the requirements of this Order, the City of Jackson shall continue to be responsible for compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act, any U.S. EPA Emergency Administrative Orders, and implement all applicable monitoring and reporting requirements of the Safe Drinking Water Act.

Compliance with this Order shall not in any way be construed to relieve the City of Jackson from its obligations to comply with all provisions of federal, state, or local law.

You still don't understand the linked information.

WHO gave the order? THE STATE

The order is a federal (EPA) mandate that the city do whatever the state and EPA require of the city.

In that order you can see that there were problems with staffing and management, which the CITY had failed to address, according to the state's press release.

So why are we seeing this press release? Because the STATE - which funds the INFRASTRUCTURE - has failed to construct the appropriate facilities to cope with flooding. AND because the state wants to blame the city for poor staffing and management, in order to draw attention away from the state's failure to build the appropriate facilities.

        What broke down: the facility

Who was responsible for that state facility: the state

Was there a problem with city politicians and their management of the facility?: sure

Did this matter when the facility exceeded its capacity?: not as much as has been suggested by the racist propaganda media

        [–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

The state and EPA had to step in because the city done fucked up.

Look, the point of all this is not to put down black people, but if we're not honest and we put on politically correct blinders, we're just going to keep allowing things to be run into the ground so as to avoid hurting people's feelings with truth. There's no black country that's bussin. It ain't just Jackson, Mississippi.

And whatever, it takes all types to make the world go round, but when it's your goddamned water, you put good white people in charge of that shit so everyone can continue to enjoy water.

We're all products of nature and nurture. Modern thinking is half and half, but I'm pretty sure it's more like 80/20, we're slaves to our biology and nobody likes that, but not liking it doesn't make it not true.

I don't want blacks, in general, running important things anymore than my own peoples because we both have pretty bad track records.

Did you ever read Kiwi Farms? You might like that place, they're a little subversive but they're also very much reddit normies. They think Tim Pool is far right. You think Saidit is far right... That seems like compatibly incorrect ideology.

Looks as though they're among the worst people one can imagine.

Well yeah, they're liberals, but I have never seen an example of organized anything on there. People do get doxxed, usually pretty creepy pervs like Aimee Chancellor. It just isn't really a group activity afaik. The Christchurch thing is legit, it's where I saw the video, and I really don't like the idea that all the self-proclaimed "elites" watch this stuff and deem it too spicy for us mere peasants. That is a good thing they had some cojones.

I don't know what is so horrible about the site. Being obsessed with lolcows is pretty lowbrow, but there's an off-topic section.

AGAIN: the Curtis Water Plant is managed by the state, NOT the city:

            https://msdh.ms.gov/msdhsite/_static/23,24664,341.html

Complain all you want about a black mayor, but this not related ot the water plant.

And I repeat - The leader has to lead. Leaders lead. He can complain or he can act. Why do you think he was elected? Black or white if he can't help solve the problems what good is he? He should get Obama on the phone and find help for his city.
