Yeah well. I feel inclined to take the short, nonetheless high "enough" road here, judging from personal experiences and the collective human beings i decided to be "relevant" enough.

Consensus between psychologists, that i know personally, regarding "research" like this, as far as i can understand it, is:

Every problem that can lead to so called "offbeat" believes and furthermore even motivate human beings to research things like this in the first place, is:

A "problem" (divergence) with the self(s).

I got a very knowledgeable deep psychologist friend that actually can trace back literally every "illness" to problems of the relation between the different "self"s most people "build" during their adolescence. Or even earlier, if "required" from the setting.

If you let her ask questions long enough and answer them honestly.

Her theory about this phenomenon (mostly) is that the deeply entrenched human conflict-managment-strategy of "tend and befriend" is somewhat at least for parts "misused" by parents to influence their offspring with words rather than not to "protect" their own vulnerabilities at some point of their behavioral development.

Their own and those of their offspring.

It is a bifurcation in a mathematical sense, we agree on, so far.

But i'll admit anytime: These are some very deep rabbit holes.

And narcissism in her definition "just" is a widely misunderstood and misused term to describe "symptoms" of this kind that otherwise are hard to categorize.

In her interpretation it is the "bullshit"-drawer the dogmatists of her profession put everything into, they don't "want" to investigate "deeper" or further.

Because you always get very near to the dark triad (which this term actually even isn't because it is neither "dark" per se nor a "triad") when looking into "people" like this.

With very "advanced", some even as "stupid" defined methods, fyi.
