They run their kiddie rape network through the military along with schools, NGO's, churches.

For the military pedo network, see Kay Griggs, Jeffrey MacDonald, Max Spiers, DynCorp and their multiple pedo ring scandals.

Which is why it should not exist. I hope my country, Ireland, never joins that insidious organisation. Thankfully there has to be a referendum in order for us to join. Our retarded, crybaby prime minister, who simps for America's Democratic Party, wants Ireland to join NATO. Hopefully most Irish people will vote no.

I am pro-nato but it makes sense to me that Ireland need never join. For a few reasons.

  1. Ireland provides trusted peacekeeper forces overseas, eg jadotville, because of its reputation for neutrality.

  2. Ireland has precisely one other nation to worry about invading, which is already a NATO member

  3. Ireland's airspace is already defended by the RAF. Why formalise what already works well informally.

On the other hand - nations hostile to Ireland's neighbours can and do use Ireland as a platform to attack uk/Europe. Ireland's strategic security is provided by the gardai, which has all sorts of funding and trust issues. Ireland does not want to engage in building a military, but it could really do with an Irish Mi5 or equivalent. Maybe there's space for engagement with NATO partners on that topic, but I agree Ireland has no need to formally join.

I guess the danger of me presenting wrong-think from outside the administration's bubble is just too high to let me live. Ireland does not need an MI5 equivalent. What we do need is to adopt a Swiss style military and train our population how to use guns.

Totally not what I expected you to say.

Interesting - so you are in favour of a large militia-style land force in Ireland - but against who? What threat requires it, in 2022? Are the Brits at it again?

What defence would a militia give against the sort of things which are actually threatening Ireland - such as russians buzzing the airspace or doing maneuvers in fishing zones, or basing their spies from the huge embassy?

I want my country to be able to prepare for the worst case scenario without being America's bottom bitch.

[–]Site_sux 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Right but what sort of scenarios does a militia prepare Ireland for, that a navy or airforce or security service wouldn't ? I mean, you know the geography, a land force in Ireland is useful against precisely one antagonist, who is already America's special ally. So I don't get it really. Ireland has real threats which America doesn't guard it against, and a militia wouldn't do much to help that

We want to make it as hard and as costly as possible for our adversaries. Duh.

[–]Site_sux 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Right but - are you deliberately dodging the question? - how does a militia make it hard, and for whom? What is the problem which a militia solves? I really really don't think you're talking about the Brits but it's possible you are. But because you refuse to explain its hard to tell

NATO is extremely dangerous to nations which plan to attack NATO. Otherwise, not so much

It bombed Bosnia, Serbia and Kosovo. It launched wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya, resulting in close to a million deaths and some 38 million people driven from their homes.

Serbia

NATO was there at Russia's invitation (a part often forgotten) after UN peacekeepers were attacked

Afghanistan

Article 5

Iraq

Not NATO, whoops, the author apparently didn't know that

Syria

Not NATO either - seems the author was wrong again

Libya

Whoops, he's really not doing great here is he.

No one is stupid enough to attack NATO, socks.

[–]Site_sux 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

One particular nation is stupid enough to threaten it every day and issue weekly "final warnings" though, which is perhaps why the topic is newsworthy

[–]Site_sux 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

The threats which are placed in russian news? Or the western news which highlights their threats? Which one am I am idiot for believing? Is one true and the other isn't?

Basic: ALL corporate media is propaganda, mixing lies into truth to deceive, divide, distract, destruct, manipulate, exploit, exterminate, and enslave.

[–]Site_sux 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Right but if a government spokesperson says a thing and it's reported on the news wires. Then that could hardly be called deceitful or divisive can it? It's just telling us that a spokesperson said the thing. I don't get what point you're trying to make here. There's a country whose spokespersons are regularly issuing nuclear threats to NATO countries. I agree with your post that it's stupid of them to do that, but I disagree that I'm deceived that it actually happened

The corporate media are gatekeepers of selective information, spin, manipulation, omission, and outright deception - just like what you're doing now. You can't trust them, ANY "authority", and I don't trust you, socks.
