Then why'd he vote for the $40 billion Ukraine aid bill, much of which will go straight to the military industrial complex?

Cheaper than letting Russia win and then having WW3

If we're trying to avoid WW3 (as we absolutely should!), the United States should be promoting diplomacy between Ukraine and Russia instead of provoking Putin with NATO expansionism and missile systems on his doorstep and fighting a proxy war with Russia using Ukraine as cannon fodder.
