I don't think they will be successful with this. The momentum is all towards states being able to do whatever they want. This is considered a republican thing, but in reality it is the DNC embrace of states rights that has moved the ball on this. The blue states have been blatantly defying federal law on immigration (sanctuary cities) and also on marijuana laws (which I am grateful for).

The Dems only have themselves to blame for individual states being able to do things dems dont like such as having lax gun laws or outlawing abortion, as they have been drinking heavily from the trough of state autonomy
