From the hot coffee incident to bed manufacturing companies being sued for a person getting injured when they overturned their bed to change it (you cannot overturn a bed now) which is why they have 'memory foams' which are absolutely awful. :( Playgrounds have been altered,etc.

It seems the USA is a giant sue happy nation though it seems since that time period there isn't a lawsuit for every little thing kinda going back to the 80s where it only happens if someone dies rather then displeasure.
