They didn't vote to overturn abortion rights... they voted to leave that decision to the individual states...

Just imagine if the first amendment was "up to the states" and maybe you'll understand why people are upset about this.

This is why elected legislators have to explicitly write laws that permit abortion. Otherwise, there is no legal protection. Now, finding legislators who will draft and vote in favor of these laws will be much more interesting because generally they only look out for themselves.
