According to Wikipedia, Blumenthal is famously anti-israel to the point he has been called anti-semitic for his anti-zionist stances, although I admit I am skeptical about his connections to RT

Thanks to your article, I've been reading about him, and see that he's written for a wide range of political subjects; so much so that it's difficult to know what he personally believes. His latest focus is pro-Russian. I've seen pro-Israel articles by him. He's far-left and far-right. Seems he's mainly focused on click-bait, especially since 2018, when the sponsorship of his website (thegrayzone) ended, and he had to fund the website with other methods, perhaps now with Russian funding.

Did some research myself, I think he is clearly far-left in a way that diverges from the mainstream, and is mistaken for rightism. Similar to Glenn Greenwald or Matt Taibbi. That being said, his connection to RT that you pointed out is a little unsettling and does undermine his credibility in my eyes.

His wife, Anya Parampil, worked for RT. They have a paper together called The Grayzone.

How that undermines credibility in your eyes when "Mainstream media" bans anyone that dissents against power is just baffling.

What do you think of MSNBC banning Glenn Greenwald and only allowing CIA spooks?

How about CNN only allowing on establishment figures?

Finally, what occurs when MSNBC fires people like Phil Donahue, Ed Schultz and Jesse Ventura, for being anti war or covering Bernie Sanders while the rest of the media falls silent on issues pertinent to keeping an informed citizenry?

It's merely mind-boggling that so many people come up with a knee jerk reaction of claiming "pro-Russia" when the media landscape is so corporately controlled they never see anything outside of it.

Yeah, I never said anything about trusting the corporate media, you are putting words in my mouth. But RT is just as much one sided propaganda as anything printed by the MSM. I wouldn't trust them to tell me the truth about anything negative concerning Russia, just like I wouldn't trust the MSNBC to tell me anything negative about Ukraine or vaccines. I agree with you on Greenwald, he is one of the few journalists I take seriously
