Except that everyone who knows anything about the recent history of Ukraine knows that Business Insider and all the rest of the Western mainstream media IS the disinformation bubble and the Russians have been telling the truth all along.

You know socks, you can be a Democrat and go against the DNCs talking points. You do not have to 'vote blue, no matter who.'

Don't you ever find it strange that the DNC supports and promotes the Bushes as good strong leaders that love America, when they orchestrated the Iraq wars? Doesn't that make you at least wonder whats going on?

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

The topic is geopolitics, not US politics. Nor is this a partisan issue for most politicians. Nor have I shared a DNC talking point. If you're going to use a whataboutist argument, try to pick a relevant subject. Better yet, avoid dumbass whataboutist arguments. Also stop supporting the genocide of Ukrainians, whilst believing Russian lie that they're instead liberating the grateful Ukrainians and are not at war.

[–]Questionable 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

Sir, that wasn't an argument. I was addressing you personally. As one Democrat to another. How are you this confused over basic human interactions?

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

If you want to bring up irrelevant points, note that you are changing the topic and note why you're making your point. For example, is the DNC a complex organization with politicians who are making deals across the aisle, even if that means they're working against the others in the DNC? Yes. AOC is one of the politicians criticizing the traitors in the DNC. There are other critics. My view is that most politicians should be voted out of office, and that new politicians replace them.

Most of the world is directly or indirectly controlled by a collection of Jew and Anglo banking families that have created secret societies and think tanks to further their power structure. There is no 'truth' out there if you don't take into account that secret societies control the world and are leading us to some type of slave planet scenario.

Saying the Russian government is not telling the truth is technically true but irrelevant. Governments don't matter anymore. There is a higher form of government orchestrating all our lives. Our intellectual and political class is mute, complicit, captive and until you're fully invested in researching and comprehending these facts you can't say with a straight face you're really interested in 'truth'.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

I think we can agree on much of this, and that major investment firms, money laundering, and networks that include the Bilderberg meetings, G7, G20, BRIC exchanges, BlackRock and Vanguard Group &c, ($9.464 trillion), big banks, military industrial complexes, and other wealthy groups determine many of the geopolitical developmetns.

[–]send_nasty_stuff 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

How can you identify as a democrat or republican then? These are both clearly fronts for a uniparty that seeks certain hidden objectives. Also how can you argue so forcefully with dissidents in dissidents spaces like s/debatealtright when you seem to agree on some very important foundational truths?

Unless you are Jewish and someone has offered you a guaranteed spot in a New Zeland bunker don't you think you will be affected by all of this impending chaos? Don't you think it's time to seriously consider that comraderie and cohesion will be essential for dissidents to survive impending food shortage, war, pestilence, etc?

Have you considered that these thinks tanks/secret society might be coordinating a series of population reduction events?

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I noted something we agree on. I did not mention one crucial disagreement: that we have to focus on solutions instead of complaints, that we have to note those solutions explicitly here and elsewhere, that we need to focus on ways of empowering voters to use the democratic system to remove corrupt politicians, that the wealthy establishment can only be beaten with a democratic system, that there is no authoritarian saviour, that notions of a kind of French revolution are untenable, that the revolution we should focus on involves the hard work of getting people actively involved in centrist politics, that "dissidents" never discuss methods that will achieve any of the goals I mention above, that "dissidents" are armchair anarchists who will are being manipulated by propaganda pushed by wealthy special interest groups, that "dissidents" are anti-democratic, that "dissidents" aren't organized as an effective group that can empower centrists to democratically defeat the corrupt politicians, that - whereas we agree very much on who the real enemy is - we have different approaches to the potential means of dealing with them. Hope this clarifies my point. I'd rather not disagree with you. You've heard me say this kind of stuff before.

[–]send_nasty_stuff 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I don't mind you disagreeing with me or anybody else. It's HOW you disagree. Often times you take the other side of an issue just because it seems like you enjoy conflict. You might have more fruitful debates if you simply repeat some of the core ideas we just discussed. We dissidents have so many mindless drones and paid troll farm time wasters attempt to 'debate' us that we often fall into a combative posture. You seem to love triggering that. I do think you've improved though so there's that.

that we have to focus on solutions instead of complaints

The idea that dissidents all want a new holocaust or french revolution of political enemies is false. Dissidents are a broad group with a variety of camps. For example a growing wing of the dissident pie are the small and medium organic farming advocates. These folks simply want distance not conflict. These folks are more concerned with rebuilding high trust white communities and having families. Think Hittites or Mennonites but not as religious and more connected to modern politics and DIY community. You'll find these people in subverses like s/200acres. The reason you see us focusing on so many 'complaints' is that we are attempting to break people away from the mainstream academic and social propaganda that's toxic and dangerous. You can't move to a solution phase until you have a critical mass of people that really understand the problem.

that we need to focus on ways of empowering voters to use the democratic system to remove corrupt politicians, that the wealthy establishment can only be beaten with a democratic system

I think if you look harder you'll see this system is broken beyond repair. That doesn't mean we need to start a civil war but it does mean we need radically different solutions. We need strong but peaceful resistance. Please consider doing a deep dive on the right wing and third position authors and their reasoning for distrusting democracy. I think you'll find some strong evidence against democracy. Start with Uncle Ted, Johnathan Bowden, Guillaume Faye, etc. Chat with /u/nombre27 and look at s/runebooks You might even like some of the eco fascists. If you don't have time to read start with this channel to catch up. I especially like his video on environmentalism vs conservationism.

Just because our movement favors strength and masculinity doesn't mean we treat every problem with hammer nail mentality. That thinking is a residue of your liberal indoctrination. (I don't know about you but mine was extensive and took years to deprogram from).

"dissidents" aren't organized as an effective group that can empower centrists to democratically defeat the corrupt politicians

They could be but most of us think it's a rigged game. Maybe you should look harder at why we think that? Also why do you think 'empowering centrism' gets us out of this mess. That a ridiculous notion to think if you already accept the notion that thinktanks and banking families run the world.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Thanks for this detailed info. I'll have a look. It's true - I really don't now what "dissidents" at DAR (&c) really believe in. I wish they could be more specific about what they want. All I see from them are complaints, and what appear to be calls for revolution and anarchy. This seems to be anti-democratic. They seem to complain about everything. And if there were to be an uprising, I see no evidence of their ability to succeed. That said, I like very much the necessity of protests, and have attended many of them, as have my parents. I think many on Saidit can agree regarding our common enemy, which is in my view is the .01% and their manipulations, brought about by late stage capitalism. But we all have different views about how to address those manipulations, and indeed I see many on Saidit want to believe the propaganda pushed by much of the .01%. Anyhow, I'll check out this interesting information you've provided.

Russians have been telling the truth all along.

just because "the west" is full of shit and lies that doesn't magically make Russian bullshit disappear. They tell some truth, then a lot of their own propaganda and censorship. You know you can acknowledge both sides are full of shit, right?

I'm much more concerned about this:

CIA Admits Feeding Americans False Info About Ukraine.

by Ron Paul Posted on April 12, 2022

Late last year, a Gallup poll showed that Americans’ trust in the mainstream media has fallen to its second lowest level on record. Only seven percent of Americans responded that they have a “great deal” of trust in the media.

That loss of trust has been well-earned by the mainstream media, and it explains the massive growth of independent media and alternative voices on social media. The response to the rise of independent media voices has been a rush to “cancel” any voice outside the accepted mainstream narrative.

Citizens of the Soviet Union would read manipulated media like Pravda not because the regime reported facts, but because truth was hidden between the lines of what was reported and what was not reported. That seems to be where we are in the US today.

Last week an extraordinary article appeared in, of all places, NBC News, reporting that the US intelligence community is knowingly feeding information it does not believe accurate to the US mainstream media for the American audience to consume.

In other words, the article reports that the US “deep state” admits to being actively engaged in lying to the American people in the hopes that it can manipulate public opinion

According to the NBC News article, “multiple US officials acknowledged that the US has used information as a weapon even when confidence in the accuracy of the information wasn’t high. Sometimes it has used low-confidence intelligence for deterrent effect…”

Readers will recall the shocking headlines that Russia was prepared to use chemical weapons in Ukraine, that China would be providing military equipment to Russia, that Russian President Putin was being fed misinformation by his advisors, and more.

All of these were churned out by the CIA to be repeated in the American media even though they were known to be false. It was all about, as one intelligence officer said in the article, “trying to get inside Putin’s head.”

That may have been the goal, but what the CIA actually did was get inside America’s head with false information meant to shape public perception of the conflict. They lied to propagandize us in favor of the Biden Administration’s narrative.

Those pushing the “Russiagate” hoax through the Trump years claimed that the goal of “Russian disinformation” was to undermine Americans’ trust in our government, media, and other institutions. Isn’t it ironic that the CIA itself has done more than the Russians to undermine Americans’ faith in the media by feeding false stories to establish a particular narrative among the American people?

After the Bay of Pigs disaster, President Kennedy has been quoted as wanting “to splinter the CIA in a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds.” That didn’t work out too well for him. As Senate Majority Chuck Schumer famously told Rachel Maddow in 2020, responding to the-President Trump’s criticism of the CIA, “let me tell you: You take on the intelligence community – they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”

As more information about the activities of the US Intelligence Community in trying to bring down Trump come out, it appears that, for once, Schumer was right.

It’s time to revisit President Kennedy’s post-Bay of Pigs wish. The CIA using lies to propagandize the American people toward war with Russia is just one of thousands of reasons to scatter a million pieces of that agency to the wind.

No idea how it is in the US (don't forget many people immigrated there due to communism in Europe), but here in Czechia and other Central/Eastern European countries that have been under communism for decades and have been invaded by Russia, the stance of the majority of people is based on either direct personal experience or the experience of their family.

[–]TheFlailingOfLegs 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (4 children)

It was a rhetorical question, the American propaganda machine is feeding everyone their current marching orders. Everyone is up in arms over Ukraine, before that it was Covid, before that it was BLM. Where is the outrage for the lockdowns in Shanghai? What about the Uyghurs? People are no longer capable of forming their own thoughts, they are simply fed what to think.

Quality post. I watch BBC news daily and thus have seen interviews by their reporters of Russians and Ukrainians, some of which show how unaware some of them are of the manipulations of Russian propaganda. (I know Saiditors will tell me not to watch the BBC, but I don't refer here to the reporters' comments, but to the comments of those being interviewed.) One of the older ladies interviewed in her apartment in Russia confirmed 3 issues:

When told that the TV news might be misleading, she indicated that she does not want to believe that her country would cause harm to Ukrainians, that she did not want to believe that the government would lie to her, and that she supports the Russian government because she is Russian.

The concept of independent beliefs and reasoning is very different in Russia.

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 4 fun7 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 4 fun -  (3 children)

It's ironic though because you can say the same thing about the US.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

I don't think it compares, mainly because of easy access in the US to a wide variety of news sources via cable, online &c. Russians and Chinese have to VPN to see alternative news, and many probably do, but the majority arguably do not.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

The search engines control everything we see and hear. They down rank or don't show the proper results for certain searches. We know this. The Russian situation is not just comparable, it's the same damned thing.

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

it's the same damned thing.

There is no comparison, on several levels. Ask Russians. They also cannot publically protest, or they go to jail upon the 3rd offense. The extent of the disinformation in Russian news media really does not compare with news media spin in the US MSM. Access in Russia is also limited because the majority live on extremely limited budgets. Look for yourself. There is a massive difference between types of access to the news in the US vs. that in other countries, and in Russia. Regarding search engines, there are some Russians who know how to set DNS to 8.8.8.8, and how to instead use DuckDuckGo, or other alternative search options. The Russian Government blocks access to some sites, and thus in Russia many use a VPN. But as I said, there is also the desire in Russia to believe that the government is in good hands. Many who are under age 35 are very angry with the government abuses, and they often protest, when there isn't the threat of jail. There is a similar problem in Iran, where half the population is under 35 and sick of the theocracy. It boils down to one issue: you have better access to relatively reliable news media in a fuctioning democracy than in a dictatorship. It's that simple. They don't compare. It's world history 101.

They are not. Lots of Russians are nationalists. They are part of Ukraine as their home land. 1/3 of them speak native Russian.

That’s the “propaganda” they spread. And it’s true.

Is it propaganda, yes. Is it true, also yes.

I've had several ad blockers but realized I do not mind those ads all that much. Maybe I'm strange but think that ads add to the Internet experience.

He is right about that too. When a missile travels at mach 5 it creates a pressure wave in front of it that absorbs radar.
